GRAND HARVEST  Nov. 2012 ~ SILVER

Estate-grown petite clusters harness the Northern Fauquier terroir of years' past agriculture and early settlers. Winter's distinguishable flavors of dried cranberries, tobacco, and black pepper ~ have yeilded a new rise of rasberries awakening from many months of aging. A vintage with the personality one would invite to the table with pork tenderloin, or a rustic Provencal soup and bread supper. Savor alongside dark chocolate lava with raspberry reduction or English bread pudding.

Earthy truffles, oak influenced butterscotch & bold dark cherry flavors are the background choir for this Bordeaux-style Mountain Man's wine grown on Big Cobbler.  Not to be hurried, one prefers a few quiet hours to fully enjoy the benefit, the full body, soft tannins, oak and mild spice from French barrel aging. Finishes delightfully smoothe.

Releasing again!!  Spring 2013

Our Merlot will take you across the dance floor and twist & turn in your mouth like a sultry Salsa number. Peppery firecracker in the roof of your mouth washes down leaving a bright lingering star on your tongue. Well known for the famous screenplay line from ~ A Sideways¯, wine-snob, Miles proclaimed a refusal to imbibe the peasants Merlot! Contrary to his belief~ This Bordeaux-style medium-bodied wine accents a sizzling steak or your favorite seasonal pizza such as mozzarella & basil. A great companion by the grill with roasted portabellos, eggplant or squash. The red fruits, spice & vanilla enhance fresh pineapple, cantaloupe and berries. Plays well with chocolate!

GRAND HARVEST Nov., 2012 ~ BRONZE

BIG EASY RED ~ friendly to most palettes! A dreamy blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Malbec, 6% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot ~ this sophisticated union of garnet reds reveals an easy blend of spice, tannins & oak. A Cellar favorite for celebrations & coctails ~ this bright "Fruit Forward" strawberry & chocolate nose prefaces the low tannins.  The term Meritage is defined as a blend of two words Merit & Heritage. The Bordeaux tradition of blending varieties is among the best wine a winery produces ~ likely in small volumes.

Shimmering notes of pear and crisp apple.  Aged 20% in Oak & 80% in stainless tanks yields playful citrus effects for a refreshing cocktail at the end of a long day.  Delicious paired with simmered Lemon Chicken & Capers, or Halibut with Cream Sauce.  The clusters of champagne colored berries were saturated by Summer floods during their infancy, nearly buried in the Blizzards of '09 and later thrived during the droughts of record-high temps of late Summer. Meanwhile, Mother Nature sent Robins to nest and start new life inside the green canopy and heavy trellis. This refreshing Chardonnay remembers a past and pours the gifts of sunshine, mountain and the winemaker's care into your glass.

Standing tall ~ on the plateau above the field of Viognier vines ~ our long-time friend, the Old Apple Tree. A favorite of cousin Madison's, where oil painting lessons and sleepy days on blankets take place.  Our old tree has stood the test of time, waited for its owners to return after 40 years, fed the Black Bear & 3 little cubs, sheltered injured deer during hard winters and offered treats to visiting horses, or laughing children on a hot summer's day. This blend is a carnival of flavors including the sweet cotton candy¯ (trees near the Grand Campfire Circle), tart greens (farmhouse) and large golden juicy yellow (Old Tree). The zip and zing of cider & local honey blend (giving a "Beer-esque" effervescence) lends itself to Sunday Brunch, grilled pork chops, scallops or Oktoberfest bratwursts.
